Schelling celebrates 25th anniversary with open days

Established more than 90 years ago, Schelling is among the oldest and most experienced saw manufacturers in the world. Since 1917, Schelling has continuously developed numerous innovations into each machine model, which have delivered greater manufacturing efficiencies and quality improvements to all its customers.

Schelling UK opened in June 1989 and the company will be celebrating its 25th anniversary of successful service to the UK market with open days at its new location in Wetherby.

On Thursday 18th and Friday 19th September, visitors and customers will receive a warm welcome from Schelling. Leitz Tooling UK, the largest supplier of tooling to British industry, will also be supporting the company’s milestone event.

Markus Freuis, Schelling (UK) managing director, says:

“We look forward to welcoming customers and visitors to our new location in Wetherby. Throughout the open days we will have several machine demonstrations, including a Schelling FH4, S45 and FK6, and the Leitz team will hold ‘trouble-shooting’ sessions with solutions for typical production issues and problems.”

Leitz Tooling UK managing director, Simon Liddell says:

“Leitz Tooling has worked with Schelling for many years, and the companies share an ethos of quality of service which is fundamental to both businesses.
“At the open days, our team will present the latest in tool and saw blade optimisation and innovations complementary to Schelling’s wide range of machines, as well as offering general tooling tips and advice.”
In 1989, Schelling’s presence in the UK was a sales office with installation and service support from Austria. As time went on, service demands evolved and 25 years on, the department now consists of seven service technicians, support staff and substantial stock.

Looking to the future, the company has moved into larger, 22,000ft sq ft premises at Osborne House, in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. As well as new office space, the facilities will allow Schelling to continue to deliver excellent service to the industries it covers and the new building will provide room to show and demonstrate new and used working machines for all industries.
