Schattdecor inaugurates new production plant in Siberia

At the beginning of July this year, after two years of construction, Schattdecor celebrated the opening of the completely rebuilt and refurbished company building in Tyumen, Russia for an impregnation line having invested around €16m for the final expansion. CEO Harald Purainer welcomed the Governor of the Tyumen region, Wladimir Jakuschew, among the hundreds at the official opening.

The new Schattdecor plant in Tyumen currently has 67 employees, and, apart from two impregnation lines, boasts Shattdecor’s latest resin heating system. From now on, customers in the Eastern regions of the Russian Federation - Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - can be served from West Siberia.

“The preliminary end of investments in Tyumen marks an important step for us," explains Harald Purainer, CEO of Schattdecor AG, "In the field of impregnation, we are now well-prepared for the future and can respond to local needs perfectly.

"Over the past three months, the volumes of turnover and quantities have developed outstandingly well at our three locations in Russia, even though the prognoses for the next six months are rather cautious. We will not allow ourselves to be alarmed and have high hopes that the political relationships will return to normal and thus the economy will be given the momentum it needs.“

Charity project 'Key to Life'

On the occasion of the festivities, the Schatt family, as a representative of the Ursula and Walter Schatt Foundation, handed a cheque to Governor Jakuschew for the child aid programme: Key to Life, for one million ruble (around €16,000). The donations are intended to enable necessary surgeries abroad for seriously ill children from the Tyumen region. A highlight is that the local administration has committed to contributing the same amount to the fund.
