Production advantage with new software for Salvador

Salvador, a leading manufacturer of automatic crosscut saws, continues to enjoy market dominance through its continued commitment to research and development. Daltons Wadkin, sole distributor for Salvador in the UK and Ireland, is pleased to announce the latest advancement with all new control software and operator interface.

The new software is available for all Salvador automatic crosscut saws including the SuperPush, SuperAngle and SuperCut models. An industrial PC with a familiar Windows operating system allows easy connectivity to customers’ networks for the transfer of cutting lists. Further deskilling operator requirements, cutting lists generated remotely now include all machine parameters necessary for the job; lengths, widths, pusher speed, cutting speed etc. New width detection allows multiple widths of material to be included in a single cutting list.

The operator interface with the machine is now even more intuitive with a larger 22” high-resolution screen and redesigned graphics. On start-up, the machine will automatically reference itself, ready for high-output precision cutting. For machines feeding the opposite hand, left to right, the graphics will match. To support operators removing material from the machine out feed can opt for a second display screen with dedicated outfeed graphics to clearly identify workpieces are they come off the machine.

Printing options have also been enhanced. Now with the ability to print before the workpiece is cut, straight and angle cutting machines can include direct inkjet printing in addition to separate label printing if needed.

Daltons Wadkin is continually looking for ways to improve machine support and maximise the value added for its customers. Salvador’s new software leans into this with real-time ethernet connection to all installed peripherals enabling advanced remote monitoring and diagnostics.

“Supporting our customers quickly and efficiently is our top priority,” confirms Managing Director, Alex Dalton. “We continue to expand our field-based engineering team and in-house support desk to meet the demands of our growing customer base. Salvador’s new software will give us even more insight for troubleshooting and the ability to fix issues without a visit, or if needed, an engineer’s first call out.”

For companies looking to expand their production capabilities with the oversight of Industry 4.0, Salvador’s automatic crosscut saws now have the option to feed real-time processing data to a SQL database for monitoring through third party software such as Microsoft’s PowerBI.

Daltons Wadkin welcomes customers to visit its forthcoming annual Wood & Panel Machinery Show in October for live demonstrations on the full Salvador range of crosscut saws, including the all-new software.
