A new Furniture Technologist has joined FIRA, the UK’s leading furniture technology centre. Sherree Felice has joined FIRA’s team of technical experts.
With its headquarters in Stevenage, FIRA provides a wide range of independent expert services dedicated to the global furniture supply chain.
Starting her career with a degree in Interior and spatial design, Sherree brings with her experience in the retail industry where she has been responsible for quality assurance, gaining extensive knowledge in both furniture design and manufacturing.
Supporting the standards and regulatory manager, Sherree works within the technical services department and can offer advice on quality assurance, General Product Safety Regulations and due diligence, packaging and importing, as well as how to manage customer expectations within the retail sector. She can also provide assistance with assessing product against various quality tiers and highlighting where potential issues can arise and how improvements can be made to reduce potential returns.
Sherree reports to the standards and regulatory manager for FIRA, Tristine Hargreaves, who said: “We are thrilled to welcome Sherree to the team. Her degree in design and employment background has given her the ability to look at a product with both aesthetics and technical points in mind.
“She is already working on a number of key projects, including one regarding the end-of-life implications for upholstered furniture containing flame retardant chemicals. She is also another expert on hand to answer questions from our members.”
