British furniture manufacturer NaughtOne has opened a new 33,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Birstall, West Yorkshire, bringing production, warehousing and customer facilities together at a single site.
Named Norquest House, the facility is almost three times the size of the company's former production premises in Elland. The investment is intended to support the business's future growth, improve operational coordination and strengthen its service to customers across the UK and Europe.
The new site will serve as NaughtOne's global Centre of Excellence, where the company will manufacture furniture for UK and European customers while developing new products and upholstery for future launches. It will also provide a dedicated Custom Studio for creating bespoke furniture tailored to individual projects and client requirements.
NaughtOne, which has designed and manufactured furniture since 2005, said the move would allow its manufacturing, warehousing and office teams to work more closely together. The facility includes an expanded production floor, warehousing, meeting rooms and improved staff amenities.
Sustainability has also featured in the development. According to the company, Norquest House operates entirely on renewable energy and holds an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Its location closer to major suppliers and customers is expected to reduce transport mileage by an average of 8,500 miles annually.
The opening marks another stage in NaughtOne's expansion over the past three years, following the establishment of its Harrogate headquarters and London showroom in 2024, and showrooms in Chicago and New York in 2025.
Managing director Nadean McNaught said the business had reached a point where additional space was needed to accommodate its growth and improve facilities for employees and customers. She added that the investment would support the company's manufacturing standards while creating greater opportunities for innovation, customisation and collaboration.
Founded in Yorkshire, NaughtOne specialises in furniture for commercial environments and has been part of the MillerKnoll group since 2019.
