Texture Mood on Ecological Panel® by Saviola has won the German Design Award for Excellent Product Design in the Material and Surfaces category.
The design's geometric texture is characterised by vertical and horizontal lines that intersect creating fields that alternate glossy and matt finish.
Mood is a finish suitable for the coating of vertical walls, never banal in solid colour but even more characterful in combination with abstract decors.
"The melamine-coated boards are characterised by their unique texture, which is inspired by Mondrian's art," said the judges panel. "The harmonious combination of opacity and lustre and the use of 100% reclaimed wood create a surface that is both aesthetically pleasing and ecologically responsible. ‘MOOD’ is a successful example of the combination of art and the sustainable use of materials."
