Following on from the news that Antrim-based joinery and fit-out firm Mivan had closed its doors in January, the company’s assets have been bought by the MJM Group, a Newry business which also specialises in fitting out cruise ships, hotels and other contract and domestic premises.
MJM’s managing director, Brian McConville, says: "MJM has a strong reputation as a global player in the industry and there are obvious synergies between our two operations. We are delighted that we were able to rescue the Mivan brand and bring it into the MJM Group of companies.”
Initially, MJM expects to create around 50 jobs in Antrim from the exisiting, local skilled workforce.
Brian also explains that MJM Group intends to operate Mivan as a separate entity: "MJM have built up a strong reputation as a global player in the industry and there’s exciting opportunities ahead to re-establish the Mivan brand in some existing markets and new international markets also.”
