Leading Swiss fixings specialist, Lamello has won a “Best of the Best” award at Interzum 2021 for its Clamex P-14 Flexus connector, part of the best-selling P-System range.
Awarded to only four products that offer “outstanding design achievements that set new industry standards in terms of form and function,” the Clamex P-14 Flexus offers a unique, flexible joining solution for use on wood-based panels and hardwood.
So what makes the Clamex P-14 Flexus fixing the “best of the best”?
It features flexible positing pins which in turn, offer an adaptable assemble sequence and the fuss-free positioning of a workpiece. The pins are beveled and movable, enabling workpieces to be tilted in both directions for ease of use and, with no limitations on the sequence of assembly, furniture makers can use the Swiss-fixings on a wide range of applications that require the joining of corner connections, dividing panel joints and angles.
An extension of the Clamex family, the new connector – which is available from Lamello representatives in the UK now – benefits from all the advantages of the P-System. It’s fully detachable – making flat-pack and on-site assemble quick and easy thanks to a small rotating lever – offers considerably stronger results than traditional joining techniques and, thanks to a shallow elements depth, it’s suitable for use on miters from 22.5-180° on surfaces, corners and dividing panel connections. It’s also designed to be extremely discreet – featuring a 6mm opening to open and close the connector - and has a lateral tolerance of 1mm.
On winning the prestigious “Best of the Best” Interzum award, Shaye Chatfield, Lamello area sales manager international for Lamello in the UK and Ireland said: “It’s a great honour for Lamello to receive this Interzum award. The awards are well-respected throughout the industry and it’s great to see innovative manufacturing solutions such as the Clamex P-14 Flexus – and the talented team behind their invention – get the credit they deserve. The Clamex P-14 Flexus offers a seriously versatile, fast and convenient way to assemble miter frames and shelving units, making design limitations a thing of the past.”
