On 1st January 2024, Marco Schweizer will assume the operational management of the international family business, Lamello.
He succeeds Susanne Affolter, who will continue to chair the Board of Directors and help shape the strategic direction of this long-established company.
Born in Fricktal in Northwestern Switzerland, Marco Schweizer began his career in 1998 as a designer at the premium supplier for machines and process systems, FrymaKoruma. He accumulated expertise in manufacturing processes, process flows and the associated challenges within a variety of roles within the international mechanical engineering industry over 25 years. He acted as Managing Director of FrymaKoruma from 2020 to 2023.
In his new position as managing director of the Lamello Group, Marco Schweizer is certain: "It‘s always about the people. This applies both to the collegiality within the Lamello workforce as well as our valuable and first-class business and customer relationships.
"We want to cultivate and expand these relationships together so that we can continue to develop pragmatic and pioneering solutions for our customers in the future."
Farewell from operations activities
Susanne Affolter will step down from her role as managing director of the Lamello Group on 31st December 2023. The granddaughter of the inventor completed her apprenticeship at the family business and took on the responsibility for human resources in the 1990s. She can look back on many eventful and successful years as a HR manager, a member of the Management Board and ultimately as the managing director.
