Lake District college re-equipped by Daltons Wadkin

Lakes College situated in Workington, West Cumbria approached Daltons Wadkin earlier this year in connection with its new purpose-built workshops which were nearing completion at the Workington site.

The requirement was for state-of-the-art machinery to provide up-to-date facilities for the students and to match the standards and the environment created by the new building.

The college presented Daltons Wadkin sales director Andy Walsh with a shopping list which Andy was able to meet whilst at the same time provide necessary engineers and services to cope with delivery, installation, commissioning and operator training.

The machines chosen were principally of Wadkin manufacture and included an AGS sawbench, FSP220 four-side planer, BRA crosscut, C700 bandsaw, BEL spindle moulder and PBR/HD band resaw.  These were complemented by some smaller machines by Sedgwick and RJH and also a new Elcon 155D vertical panel saw.

Alex Dalton was delighted to be able to provide a one-stop-shop for the Lakes College project and comments: “It is always great to see a successful conclusion to negotiations. We have long been associated with education supply at school, college and university levels and we are delighted to have been chosen to equip this brand new college facility.”

The new machinery was installed during June and Daltons Wadkin look forward to an ongoing relationship with the college, both in terms of aftercare and further supply opportunities.
