Kundig & J & C O’Meara to host combined Open House this September

Kundig and J & C O’Meara will showcase their latest launches and new collaborations from 26-29th September at Unit 6, Dakota Business Park, Dakota Way, Burscough, Lancashire, L40 8AF.

Kundig of Switzerland is delighted to invite the UK’s furniture makers and joinery manufacturers to its Autumn Open House, where there will be a selection of wide belt and edge sanding machinery on display.

The latest version of the popular Kundig Master will be available for demonstration, which is now equipped with the ‘Enormatic’ automatic setting device and has a maximum working height of 200mm. The machine is available with an electronic segmented pad, allowing it to sand veneered boards and joinery components.

For the more discerning customer who is looking to achieve the highest possible quality finish, the Kundig Perfect will be available for demonstration. The machine shown will be suitable for sanding solid wood, veneer and de nibbing after sealing or spraying. The machine being demonstrated also has a structure brush to allow a greater range of surface finishes.

The Kundig Perfect uses the patented Oblique sanding technique, where tests have shown several advantages including a flatter surface is generated, extended life of the abrasive, less surface fibres after sanding and no oscillation marks on the surface.

The Kundig Uniq series of edge sanding machines all have motorised raise, lower and tilting of the abrasive and benefit from programmable oscillation for optimised use of the sanding belt. The Uniq-S introduces an integrated feed system available as either a single or twin transport belt. The Kundig Flash is based on the Uniq edge sanding machine but is designed to sand sealed or sprayed edges. Using a similar technology as the wide belt machines, the Flash has an action-controlled sanding pad, variable speed to the abrasive and sanding belt cleaner.

Kundig UK’s Matthew Staley will be present to demonstrate the machines and offer technical advice for applications in sanding.

J & C O’Meara Ltd is a long-established supplier of industrial woodworking machinery and is proud to announce its partnership with USA-based SNX Technologies. SNX manufactures a series of semi-automatic contour edge banding machines which remove the issue of time-consuming manually edge banding of shaped panels.

There are several key features to the SNX machines which put them ahead of their competitors, including the heavy-duty construction that allows panels weighing up to 104 kg to be edged. The laser end cutting device with shear cut of the guillotine gives the tightest joint possible when edging all round.

The machine is suitable for a variety of work, including table tops, corner or curved shelves, point-of-sale desks etc. The machine is also equipped with a top and bottom trimming station which can drop down if required during the edgeing process.

The model being demonstrated is the SNX nVision G1 which is aimed at the small to medium-sized manufacturer looking to improve the quality and efficiency of edge banding shaped parts at a fraction of the price of a CNC edge bander.
