Kite Packaging Group, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of packaging, has grown the company in more ways than one recently with several acquisitions that it says will improve services and create a number of job opportunities.
The first acquisition is an £80,000 ‘wagon and drag’ truck, which will improve delivery services for the Swindon and Thames Valley areas.
These trucks can carry an impressive load of 112 cubic metres – some 54 cubic metres more than an 18-tonne fixed bodied vehicle. It can also swap bodies which will improve delivery and efficiency. This investment will soon grow into a fleet of similar trucks at each Kite Packaging branch in order to satisfy the growing demand of its customers.
The Sheffield branch has moved to a new address in Rotherham. The £1.5m new building has created an expansion from 20,000 to 30,000 sq ft and a 25% increase in staff members. The new space is much more energy efficient and will allow for further stockholding to improve services for Kite customers in the north of England.
Finally, the largest investment for Kite, as part of its on-going growth in the market, has been the acquisition of the Alliance trading estate in Coventry, a £3.5m investment. The Midlands branch will expand from 69,000 to 179,000 sq ft and will create a plethora of new job opportunities, starting with a telesales team that will double in size.
