Yorkshire bed manufacturer Jay-Be has been awarded the prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark from The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, following a successful audit.
Jay-Be is a family-run bed manufacturer best known for its folding beds, sofa beds and children’s mattresses. The company’s products are sold in more than 22 countries worldwide, through hundreds of independent specialist stores and world-famous national retailers alike.
Manufacturing Guild Mark chairman Ben Burbidge presented Roger Durrans, managing director at Jay-Be, with the certificate of accreditation at the company’s manufacturing facility in Dewsbury on Tuesday 26 March.
Sponsored by Lectra and Biesse Group, the Manufacturing Guild Mark has been the mark of excellence, distinguishing Britain’s top furnishing manufacturers, since 1993. The mark is awarded to companies that demonstrate high standards across all aspects of the business.
Ben says: “Jay-Be is the latest company to successfully demonstrate its prowess across the eight assessment criteria used to determine whether a company is deserving of a Manufacturing Guild Mark. Congratulations to the whole team at Jay-Be who should be incredibly pleased with their achievement.”
Roger says: “We are delighted to have been awarded the prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark and extremely proud that Jay-Be has been recognised in this way.
“As a company, we have a fantastic team spirit and pride ourselves on creating innovative sleep products, with increasing sustainability and functional design. All our beds, mattresses and sofa beds are made in our own Yorkshire factory, so we can be sure that our customers are getting the very best quality, design and service at excellent value.”
