Leading tool manufacturer, Hultafors, has confirmed its sponsorship of the inaugural BTX Carpentry & Joinery Learner of the Year competition, reinforcing its commitment to skills development and supporting the next generation of tradespeople.
The sponsorship comes at a time when the construction industry continues to face well-documented skills shortages amidst a landscape of ambitious national housing targets. The company’s involvement is focused on supporting learners at the earliest stages of their careers, particularly by improving access to practical education and quality tools within colleges.
As part of the sponsorship, Hultafors will provide prize packs for all competition entrants, from regional heats through to runners-up and winners, with enhanced prizes for finalists.
Hultafors is also contributing educational support to the competition, supplying product features, tool selection guidance and practical tips for inclusion in the BTX handbook distributed to colleges. Online product videos and advice content will further support learners in understanding what to look for when purchasing tools.
“It was an obvious choice for us to support this competition," comments Nicki Hickman, Marketing Manager for Hardware at Hultafors Group UK. "It gives learners the chance to challenge themselves and start making connections that will support them throughout their careers.”
The BTX Carpentry & Joinery Learner of the Year competition is the first category aimed specifically at trade newcomers, and has been created to recognise emerging talent, raise standards and encourage more young people to pursue careers in the trade.
