How modern coating systems reduce resource consumption in the wood and furniture industry

The wood and furniture industry is under considerable pressure to innovate: increasing energy efficiency requirements, volatile material costs, and the growing demand for sustainable production processes call for intelligent solutions in surface technology.

Today, modern system concepts not only enable greater process stability, but also reduce the use of coatings and energy through precise material dosing and automated processes – a decisive factor in times of scarce resources.

As a technology partner to the industry, Venjakob has been developing systems tailored precisely to these requirements for over 60 years. The company views surface technology not as an isolated machine, but as an integral part of a networked production chain – from pre-treatment and application technology to handling, drying, and quality assurance.

The current focus is on the question of how flexible, yet robust coating processes can be implemented to reliably process changing materials and batch sizes. Combined roller and spray coating systems, automated adjustments to different geometries, and energy-optimised drying systems are now among the key components for economical and sustainable manufacturing.

On May 28th, 2026, Venjakob will present a fully integrated roller coating line, including pretreatment and drying in real operation, and host expert talks on “Surface Coating”. Full details will soon be available on the company's website, or, contact Venjakob in advance at [email protected].
