Growth in trade visitors to Homebuilding & Renovating Show

A 15 per cent increase in trade visitors to the Homebuilding & Renovating Shows over the past two years is indicative of the desire for trades to see, touch and compare the latest innovations and technologies available in the self-build and home renovation sector, while meeting the requirement for upskilling and advancing their practical knowledge in the face of changing legislation and evolving housing standards.

To cater for this demand, the London Homebuilding & Renovating Show, taking place between 19th – 21st September at Excel London, is continuing to provide industry-relevant topics for its masterclass programme for the 2025 event. High on the agenda at the Masterclass Theatre is the focus on sustainability and liveability of homes, with sessions from exhibitors and show experts on topics including Unlocking The Power For a Smart Home, Concept to Completion of a High Performance Home, and The Mindful Approach to Home Renovation, to name but a few.

To complement the updated masterclass offering, the show will also be hosting the Home Energy Academy, with specialists on hand to help visitors understand how new energy solutions will save money on bills and reduce carbon footprint, with free advice at the Advice Centre. The Home Energy Hour, which runs alongside the Home Energy Academy, provides attendees with access to a range of talks and Q&A sessions, designed by the organisers to highlight the latest trends and advancements in home energy and to help make homes leaner and greener.

In addition, whether you are a tradesperson working on a full extension or someone looking to perform work on a single room, the show is offering impartial one-to-one advice from a cast of experts by booking a 15-minute consultation designed to answer those burning questions about a build or renovation. They include BBC’s ‘DIY SOS’ and ITV’s ’60 Minute Makeover’ interior designer Julia Kendell of premier kitchen design studio Kendell & Co; Homebuilding & Renovating’s property expert Michael Holmes; eco expert David Hilton; planning expert Sally Tagg; design expert Allan Corfield; and finance expert Tom McSherry.

Nick Noble, commercial and events director Future PLC, says, “We’re seeing a significant rise in the number of tradespeople attending our shows across the UK. With London being one of the country's key hubs for home renovations, we’re especially excited to welcome even more industry professionals to the upcoming show. The enhanced and expanded masterclass programme is designed to meet the evolving needs of the sector, and we are confident it will give attendees the opportunity to gain valuable insights and engage directly with experts and exhibitors. Our aim is for tradespeople to leave inspired, equipped with fresh ideas for renovation projects and ready to explore new business opportunities based on what they’ve learned.”
