Gowercroft Joinery appoints new technical manager

Multi award-winning timber window and door manufacturer Gowercroft Joinery has appointed a new Technical Manager to drive its ambitious programme of new product development and innovation.

Gary Chatwood is joining the company with over forty years of experience in the timber fenestration, conservatory and home improvement market.

Previously production and design manager at several leading Yorkshire timber and composite window and door companies, he has extensive knowledge of all aspects of production from design and specification through manufacturing operations to installation and after sales service.

Passionate about design and innovation Gary has a proven track record in bringing new fenestration products and conservatory roofing systems to the market and was instrumental in developing a timber box sash window, which won a national ‘Joinery Product of the Year’ award.

“I have always worked for companies that have led the way in this highly competitive industry and so I am really thrilled to be joining Gowercroft Joinery, who have a fantastic reputation for breaking new ground and developing markets for their trailblazing products,” said Gary.

In addition to supporting new product innovation, Gary will be reviewing and refining existing manufacturing operations and developing new control methods and monitoring systems in order to achieve the production efficiencies required to keep pace with increasing sales.

“We have always believed in head hunting the very best talent in our industry and are confident that Gary’s broad-based technical experience and enthusiasm will be a great asset to the company as we push forward with our ambitious growth and expansion plans for 2021,” said Andrew Madge, managing director of Gowercroft Joinery.

As one of the fastest growing manufacturers in the UK timber window and door industry, Gowercroft has challenged and redefined the marketplace with its award-winning range of products.

In recent years the company has won ‘Best Windows’ category of the 2017 Build It Awards and the prestigious 2019 British Woodworking Federation’s (BWF) ‘Woodworking Project of the Year’ award for its part in the restoration of Templeton House, Sir Winston Churchill’s former home in Roehampton.

As part of its growth strategy, Gowercroft has made significant investments in state-of-the-art machinery and software and continues to expand and invest in its highly trained and motivated workforce.
