Gluecom brings its woodworking brands under one roof

Gluecom’s rebrand earlier this year brought eight European adhesive companies under one name, giving furniture makers and joiners more choice from one supplier, with UK-based supply and technical support.

AQUAPAL is the group’s PVA range for woodworking, supplied from Gluecom Pafra in Basildon and Gluecom Ace in Walsall. High-viscosity, fast-setting D2 grades cover bed, sofa and chair frames, while D3 and D4 grades handle laminating HPL and veneers onto chipboard, plywood and MDF, along with waterproof decorative panels, whiteboards and insulation panels. The D3 and D4 grades are fully certified and batch traceable, so customers know the glue is rated for the job.

From Belgium comes MERRIXINE, with D2 to D4 grades for joinery, finger jointing and window frames. DEMCOMELT hotmelts are made in France and include PUR grades with high heat and moisture resistance. Both ranges are supplied through the UK team.

Gluecom’s technical support chemists and application specialists back this up, working from laboratories at Pafra and Ace. They test adhesives on customers’ own materials, visit sites to run trials on the line, carry out equipment audits and provide free quotes. Where nothing off the shelf fits, they can develop a bespoke grade.
