Used and reconditioned machinery specialist, Ferwood Group, has won a 2025 Sustainable Development Award – presented by Ecomondo, a trade show focused on green innovation.
Nominated in the Circular Economy category, Ferwood has worked hard to transform the used machinery market and provide manufacturers with an affordable solution to reducing their operational footprint.
As a leading global supplier of used and reconditioned machinery, Ferwood has to date recycled over 4000 machines, saved over 6000 and currently carries 150,000 recycled spare parts.
“The woodwork industry has placed the spotlight on sustainability in recent years, with furniture manufacturers working hard to respond to global and consumer demand to reduce their carbon footprint,” says Riccardo Rossi, CEO of Ferwood Group. “The role of used and reconditioned machinery in achieving sustainability goals is an area that continues to gain momentum, as manufacturers recognise that purchasing choices make a significant impact both in carbon reduction and in creating a sustainable industry for the future.
“For panel processing machinery, a circular economy that maximises machinery life by reconditioning, reusing, and recycling reduces our negative impact on the environment and improves our ability to meet and adapt to increasing market variables.”
