Charity shooting day raises £1.1k

A shooting day organised by The Furniture Makers' Company in its East of England region has raised £1,100 for the charity.

The event, which was organised by liveryman Andy Corbett and sponsored by Vita, took place on Friday 6th September at the Sporting Targets shooting ground in Riseley, Bedfordshire.

The competition saw six teams participate, with teams from Wolf Components, Bensons for Beds, and VITA joining the action.

The event showcased impressive individual and team performances, with Top Gun honours going to Paul Feenan, who secured first place with an outstanding score of 42 out of 50. Paul was closely followed by Guy Hunter, who also achieved 42, both representing the Clerk’s team. Steve Chambers from the Bensons for Beds team took third place with a score of 41.

In the team competition, the Clerk’s team triumphed with a collective score of 159 out of 200. Bensons for Beds followed as runners-up with a solid 135 points.

Brian Ahern, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “A special thank you goes to Andy Corbett for his excellent organisation of the event. The event was proudly sponsored by VITA, whose support was invaluable in making the day a success.”
