Collyer & Co, the Nottingham-based bespoke luxury cabinetry company, has announced a record year of trading, which has led to a forthcoming repositioning of its business.
The business, which provides cabinetry throughout the home for period and contemporary properties, increased sales by more than 20 per cent in 2024, completing a record number of hand-crafted cabinetry projects in prestigious homes across the East Midlands, London and the South West.
As part of this growth, managing director Steve Collyer has developed relationships with architects and interior designers, and has made the decision to focus on these channels, whilst continuing to receive work through the recommendations of satisfied customers.
To help the business with this transition, Steve and his team have opted to work with digital marketing and PR agency, Tank, and brand communications agency, Warbox. The agencies will reposition the brand voice, refresh the website and devise an SEO strategy to capitalise on the excellent brand awareness Collyer & Co has within the architectural and interior design worlds.
Established in 2019, following the purchase of long-established Preston Bissett, Collyer & Co has expanded rapidly into the market. It offers a premium bespoke product wrapped in consultative cabinetry and home expertise. The business has opted not to operate under the traditional showroom / sales staff model, to remain competitive on price, and to allow it to invest significantly into its Daleside Road workshop and its team - thus reinforcing its reputation as a high-end craftsmanship organisation.
Steve says of the business’ direction: "More than 60 per cent of our business came from collaborative working with architects and interior designers in 2024, and we see most of our growth coming from these clients, as they appreciate the quality of our work, recognising that it’s equal or better than many of the premium brands.
“We find that working with creative professionals as part of a team to realise the homeowner’s ideal living spaces suits our ethos - using our craftsmanship to provide the highest quality product and solution for the customer and not settle for an ‘it will do’ approach.”
Collyer & Co has, perhaps unsurprisingly, found the highest demand for its period home kitchen and wardrobe products in 2024, but the close architectural links have led it to be involved in more contemporary projects, which has seen it broaden its offer to include contemporary kitchens in wood veneers.
Of his new agency hire, Steve concludes: “We selected Tank and Warbox to assist us in our repositioning, as Trevor the owner and members of his team have a clear passion for interior design and a valuable understanding of the premium end of the market. I also had the benefit of being in their offices to fit cabinets, and saw the quality of the team first hand.”
