Owners of Pacer routers, supplied by AXYZ International, that have passed their useful working life and need to be replaced with a more up-to-date and possibly higher performance machine can benefit from a significant cash discount when purchasing a new AXYZ or Pacer router.
A recent example is Gateshead, Tyne and Wear-based Escott Signs which has now upgraded to a large-format AXYZ 6014 router by trading in an old Pacer router facilitated by the huge cash discount offered by AXYZ International.
In addition to traditional sign-making materials like acrylic, plastics and aluminium, Escott Signs will use the new router to process different timber materials and in particular exterior-grade plywood and MDF.
These are used in the manufacture of exterior signage to be installed within areas of natural beauty as well as for country parks and boundary signs located in rural areas due to the environmental appeal of timber and its preferred use by local authorities for rural development projects.
Part of the 6000 series of AXYZ large-format CNC routers, the 6014 machine now installed at Escott Signs incorporates the AXYZ ATC (automatic tool change) facility for work involving a multiple tooling requirement. The 6014 router is supported by ArtCAM design and production software that was also supplied by AXYZ International.
The 6000 series of large-format routers provides processing widths of up to 2159mm and lengths from 3048mm up to 10m. In common with all AXYZ routers, the 6014 model can be supplied with a raft of optional production tool enhancements. These include the AXYZ Auto Zone Management facility that ensures the material being processed is always held securely throughout the routing/cutting cycle and the latest A2MC machine control system.
A further optional enhancement is the latest AXYZ helical rack and pinion drive system incorporating a multiple gear teeth configuration. This helps spread the workload more evenly, leading to greater routing/cutting accuracy, faster throughput speeds, reduced material wastage and ultimately a longer than normal machine life.
On the performance of the new AXYZ 6014 router since installation, sales director at Escott Signs, Jeff Lumsden, comments: “While it is too early to make a full evaluation of the router’s impact on our business, it is fair to say that, based on its performance so far, we predict a significant increase in production as well as making the company even more competitive when tendering for long-term contracts with our many blue chip customers.”
