The AES UK team at Materials & Finishes
.

In May 2024, AES UK exhibited at the all-new Materials and Finishes Show held at the Birmingham NEC. Having 500 square metres of exhibition space, AES had two adjoining stands and took the opportunity to display the latest in Industrial CNC technology by showing a broad selection of machinery from the different product groups manufactured by the AES Group.

Flat bed nesting machines are one of the most popular CNCs used by panel based manufacturers, especially furniture makers, shop fitters, van liners and the events industries. AES had various models on display, including the Flexa Pro which is the starting point of the industrial series of CNC machines and has also been one of the most popular, with installations throughout the UK.

The all-new Super Nova is the next level in the AES range and sports a new gantry cover with LED status bars, along with a nine-spindle vertical drill and rotary tool changer. The latest Super Nova has been designed to be supplied as either a ‘standalone’ machine, or can also be supplied as an automated nesting cell with automatic loading and offloading.

AES UK will once again put on an at-home event in September
.

The heavy-duty AES Extreme Ultra Line machine was also displayed, equipped with the ‘Label X’ option to allow automatic board alignment and automatic labelling for part identification.

There were also two pod and rail style machines on display, including the Vega Ultra Evo which is a typical three-axis ‘Fire Door Spec’ machine complete with double sided horizontal router head to machine the locks and hinges. This latest machine also has LED light strips to assist with pod positioning and a rotary tool changer for increased efficiency.

The AES Vega Ultra five-axis machine was also displayed, showing a typical 3D carving of a lion’s head. The increased Z level of the five-axis machine increases the scope of manufacturing possibilities, as does the endless movement in the B and C axis allowing for seamless cutting (the router head does not need to keep unwinding).

For those looking to produce by volume, the AES Beta beamsaw was on display which is available in various cutting lengths along with a number of cutting depths. The model shown was the PS03 3200 which is suitable for cutting up to three 18mm panels in a single operation and has a 3200mm cutting length. There are several options for this machine, with further models available to include rear or side loading along with automated board storage.

The perfect machine to have working in conjunction with a beamsaw is a CNC drilling machine. The popular Sirius 950M was on display along with the larger capacity Go 1300 with twin clamps and automatic tool changer.

For the majority of the show, the AES stand was a hive of activity with customers both old and new taking the opportunity to see the machines and to meet the team.

AES UK’s attendance at Materials & Finishes Show was the second exhibition for the company this year, the first being the launch of the new showroom and the AES UK headquarters in March 2024. Preparations are now well underway for the next Open House Exhibition, which will be held 26th - 29th September 2024 … further details to follow.
