Francis Dalton, director of woodworking machinery supplier, Daltons Wadkin, is celebrating 60 years in the woodworking industry. To mark this impressive milestone, Francis was presented with a celebratory cake at this year’s machinery and materials exhibition, W16.

Founded in 1901, Francis is the third generation to run Daltons Wadkin and his experience in the sector has seen his company grow and evolve to become the international player that is known and respected today.

The company’s extensive portfolio includes 18 machinery brands including Salvador, Elcon, Altendorf, Stenner, Sedgwick, Kimla and its very own in-house range, Wadkin. The company has also recently acquired exclusivity of Spanish CNC brand, Cehisa, in the UK.

On receiving the cake Francis says: “It was a great surprise. The Dalton name has been in the industry for over 100 years and it is fantastic to be recognised for the hard work and investment both myself and the team have put in.”

Lisa Campagnola, events director adds: “It’s important for us to recognise a huge achievement such as this. This year, W16 has focused heavily on promoting the importance of apprenticeships and recruitment in the woodworking sector. Thanks to people like Francis paving the way, the future has never looked brighter for the woodworking industry.”
