TM to show the best in vertical panel sawing and wide-belt sanding at W16

On Stand B610 at the W16 show at the NEC, Birmingham in October, panel processing equipment specialists TM Machinery will be demonstrating models from the Striebig range of vertical panel saws and the Viet range of artisan wide-belt sanders, both well-proven industry favourites.

Three examples from Striebig’s portfolio, which consists of five machine series catering for all sizing needs, will be shown: an entry-level Compact 4164; a Standard TRK2 4216; and a fully-automatic Control 5224.

The entry-level Compact series, with a cutting range from 3100 x 1644 to 5350 x 2220mm includes an automated cut cycle version, the Compact AV, to make them even more productive.

The popular Standard TRK2 series – tried and tested over decades – comes in cutting sizes 3300 x 1680mm to 5300 x 2240mm. The series can truly be said to have set the standard in the universal class for vertical panel saws for many years, with its flexibility and range of options making it the ideal saw for companies of all sizes.

Representing the ultimate in automated vertical panel saw technology is the Striebig Control, a true cutting centre. The unique ‘touch and saw’ machine operation, operated via an easy-to-use touch screen, raises the efficiency of the Control to new and unrivalled levels.

The Control series, with cutting sizes from 3300 x 1680mm to 5300 x 2240mm, offers an optional Electronic Positioning System (EPS) on both axes for the automatic positioning of both the length stop and saw head. This increases the saws’ productivity by delivering automatic repeat strip and upper trim cutting.

With manual feeding of the saw unit eliminated the operator’s job is made easier, giving him ample time to prepare the next job. Numerous procedures are carried out at the press of a button, including locking and releasing the beam saw, setting the horizontal cutting height, plunging and swivelling the motor, locking the support rollers during sawing and fine saw blade adjustment.

All five Striebig series machines are available in nine cutting sizes with an extensive selection of options to improve their effectiveness still further. Machines can also be built in special sizes and fitted with specialist equipment to suit individual requirements. They are suitable for cutting practically all sheet materials, including MDF, plaster board, plastics and aluminium panels and offer impressive dust limit values well below 1mg/m3.

Two models from the high performance and economical Viet artisan range of wide-belt sanders will be on display.

Precise and functional, the entry-level S211 features twin sanding heads to calibrate and sand timber, preparing it for further processing. It features a working width of 1100mm and a convenient push-button panel to control all of the machine’s functions.

The S1 213 is a heavy duty twin-head sander with a large choice of sanding and finishing elements. The option to add inverter control of the abrasive belt and conveyor belt speeds gives maximum flexibility from a compact machine. Touch screen controls are also available for operator ease and speed of use.

TM sales engineers will be on hand throughout W16 to answer questions visitors may have on how they can achieve greater panel processing productivity.

Details will also be provided of the specialist services provided by TM Service & Spares, whose field engineers are amongst the most experienced in the UK and who can repair and maintain most types of woodworking machinery.
