New generation planer moulders

World renowned woodworking machinery manufacturer and supplier Heinrich Kuper GMBH, situated in Reitberg, Germany, has been investing in new technology and uprated specifications for its planer-moulder range in order to meet higher expectations in the marketplace and the challenges of an ever-more competitive business climate.

The Kuper planing and moulding machines constitute an increasingly important sector of the output from the company’s extensive manufacturing and distribution centre in Reitberg.  Kuper employs some 400 staff and exports equipment to almost every country in the world.

Established 80 years ago, the Kuper name has long been associated with machines for the manufacture of veneers but also produce mechanical handling systems, enabling it to offer viable solutions for larger scale operations as well as a large business supplying and rebuilding woodworking equipment of all types.

Daltons Wadkin is the sole UK and Ireland distributor for the Kuper planer-moulder range which enables it to market a high specification range with the added advantage of a German pedigree and a build quality to match or surpass most competitive machines.

The new generation includes a seemingly infinite variety of specifications and options to suit almost any requirement and ranges from a basic four-head SWT/XS to machines with up to 10 heads and capacities up to 310 x 230mm.

Standard and optional features include touch-screen controls, long or short beds and outboard bearings, the many technical advances being the result of much recent research and development.

Also available are linear guides for pneumatic pressure shoes and hard-chromed bed plates. Other key items which aid the operator include quick set-up tooling – Prolock or HSK– Siemens 15in full colour touch-screen controls, auto positioning of the spindles – radial and axial – with electronic display and large capacity axial adjustments.

Daltons Wadkin sales director Andy Walsh says: “Kuper are a big company and they do not do things by halves. The manufacturing plant in Reitberg is awesome and together with their other additional offices in Freiburg, Breisgau, Korbuben, Thuringia and Berlin, supports worldwide supply and distribution.

“We are fortunate to be appointed UK and Ireland distributors as it gives Daltons Wadkin the ability to supply and promote planing and moulding machines of the highest quality and specification.

“These new generation machines will more than match most of the competition and the recent advances Kuper have made, particularly with reference to electronics and control systems, have turned an already very good machine into something quite special.”
