Accoya USA announces strategic expansion into Mexico

Accoya USA has expanded its North American footprint with the appointment of Klinai, as its first direct Accoya distributor in Mexico.

With this strategic milestone, Accoya, the high-performance, sustainable wood, celebrated for its durability and dimensional stability, is now directly distributed in the three largest North American markets: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Klinai, a family-owned company with over 45 years’ experience in woodworking, has strong market knowledge and trusted relationships in the architectural and construction communities.

As a leading supplier of outdoor laminated structural timber beams, columns, arches, and other non-structural elements such as cladding, decks, trellises, louvers, and pergolas, Klinai is well-positioned to showcase Accoya’s exceptional performance in structural and outdoor applications where durability and reliability are essential.

Customers are actively considering Accoya for exposed structures across a diverse range of projects, including flagship commercial buildings, offices, embassies, hotels, residences, and shopping centres. This reflects strong market interest in Accoya’s appearance, tactile quality, and suitability for Mexico’s diverse climate.

Mexico’s wood construction market, valued at USD $269.6 billion in 2024 and expected to grow at a CAGR of 12%*, offers a major opportunity for Accoya’s ongoing global expansion. Klinai’s location also provides access to the Caribbean region, expanding the potential for regional growth.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Klinai to bring Accoya to the dynamic Mexican market,” said Sergio Munhoz, Sales Director for Accoya USA. “Accoya sets a new standard for wood products, with innovative, durable, and sustainable properties that make it ideally suited to Mexico’s diverse climates and construction needs. Together with Klinai, we look forward to showcasing Accoya’s potential at the architect show Obra Blanca in Mexico City this October.”

Since the opening of the Accoya USA plant in Kingsport, Tennessee, in 2024, a joint venture between Accsys and Eastman Chemical Company, demand for Accoya has continued to increase across North America.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Accoya USA and introduce Accoya to our customers in Mexico,” added Albert Betancourt, managing partner at Klinai. “Accoya’s unmatched performance and sustainability credentials make it an ideal match for our market and climate, and we look forward to supporting specifiers from early design through to delivery.”

Accoya USA and Klinai will be showcasing at Obra Blanca Expo, Stand 1742, from October 14 to 16, 2025, in Mexico City.
