Fittings manufacturer Blum ensures it has skilled workers for the future by providing its own top quality vocational training programme. The company has taken on as many as 65 new apprentices, showing that Blum is one of the most sought-after places of vocational training in the region.
58 young men and seven young women started their vocational training in one of the high-tech trades offered by Blum in Hoechst, in Fussach and now also in Dornbirn on 2 September. From autumn, a total of 257 trainees will be serving an apprenticeship with Blum – ten of whom at Blum USA, the company’s subsidiary in America. The three-day Breaking the Ice Workshop held at the start of every vocational training programme has proven its worth over the years. The workshop gives the young people the opportunity to get to know one another and brings them closer together as a team.
Blum’s programme of vocational training currently comprises seven high-tech trades: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and toolmaking, metal-cutting and design engineering and plastics and production engineering. With state-of-the-art apprentice workshops, sophisticated machinery and more than 40 instructors in Vorarlberg and three in the USA, the fittings specialist provides the best possible conditions for the training of skilled workers of the future.
