Issue 385
Welcome to our March issue!
As Spring fi nally gets underway, the industry is preparing for some of its most signifi cant UK-based exhibitions. March sees the return of kbb Birmingham as it celebrates an impressive 40-year legacy, before Furniture Component Expo lands in Telford with what promises to be an ambitious and well-rounded edition.
May brings Clerkenwell Design Week, an ever-popular and highly creative format that always draws in the crowds, followed by the Professional Woodworking Expo – now taking place in June alongside the InstallerSHOW and Painting & Decorating Show.
The Furniture & Joinery Production team looks forward to welcoming clients and friends, old and new, to our stands at FCExpo and Professional Woodworking Expo. Exhibiting at both KBB and PWExpo is our cover star this issue, in3D Software Ltd. On page 20, we delve into the exciting developments ongoing at the company, which acts as the offi cial UK & Ireland partner for imos AG.
Elsewhere in the issue, Ian Conyers, Technical Trainer at Daltons Wadkin, shares insight into the invaluable benefits of considered investment in training. We also hear from Matthew Ekholm, Digital Product Passport and Circularity Specialist at Provenant, who explores how businesses can thrive in the era of ‘verifi ed sustainability’.
A common thread runs through these features: the importance of carefully planned, long-term strategies – whether in staff training, circularity, or product investment – that will futureproof businesses against evolving legislation and mounting pressures. Easier said than done, certainly, but essential considerations nonetheless.
Finally, be sure to explore our product features, focusing on surfacing & decorative panels, bedding & upholstery production and solid wood production.
P.S. Don’t miss our accompanying CNC Supplement – an annual publication packed with insight and the latest developments from this fascinating, ever-evolving sector.
Happy reading!
