FURNITURE & JOINERY PRODUCTION

Welcome to the May edition of Furniture & Joinery Production Magazine. In this issue, we bring you our fi nal preview articles for the fast-approaching LIGNA and interzum trade fairs — two events that offer valuable insights into the future direction of the sector.

Automation and sustainability are the core threads running through both events, mirroring the industry as a whole, of course. The challenge of balancing these two forces, without compromising on quality or creating unsustainable production costs, requires a great deal of forward-thinking investment and strategic planning – something the events will hopefully illuminate, alongside the rewards of successful integration.

Agility in approach is emerging as a key factor for long-term success in an increasingly demanding and dynamic marketplace. This philosophy is clearly embraced by our profi le star this issue: complete construction partner Stepnell, which is building on its rich heritage in high-quality construction and specialist joinery by launching a new joinery business, Lawford Bespoke Joinery. Turn to page 10 to learn more.

In our installations section, we highlight the benefi ts of investment in new machinery and automation. Discover how Outdoor Play UK has expanded its capabilities with HOMAG’s CENTATEQ P-310 5-axis, and how Pearl Fit-Out is streamlining operations and automating its workfl ow using Microvellum software.

Finally, our CNC Machinery feature spotlights some of the latest innovations in the sector — from Comec Group’s expanded CNC lineup and the new AXYZ WOODWORKER CNC Router through to Masterwood’s high-performance equipment and Prima Tooling’s advanced PCD and Carbide CNC tooling solutions.

Happy reading — and to those exhibiting or visiting Hannover and Cologne later this month, we wish you a successful show. The Furniture & Joinery Production team hopes to see you there!
