Using cross-laminated timber (CLT) to replace damaged sections of the building, the iconic space has been restored to its former glory as a vibrant hub for the local community. On page 60, Daltons Wadkin has inspired a change in approach for Halstead Community Shed, which combats loneliness and isolation by fostering a sense of purpose through hands-on projects that benefi t the wider community. Central to the group’s efforts is an impressive array of woodworking machinery, which the group’s members are now better able to use effectively and safely thanks to Daltons Wadkin’s certifi cated operator training. Turkish woodworking machinery manufacturer, AES, has developed a longstanding relationship with Swiss fi xings specialist, Lamello, only enhanced by the opening of a dedicated UK subsidiary in 2024.
