CNC & WOODWORKING ENGINEER

Location: National / On-Site

Salary: Up to £40,000 P/A

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Woodworking Machinery and Electrical Engineer to join our team at Panel Production Machinery. We are looking for someone who is really enthusiastic, great communication skills, willing to learn and ambitious about the job & growth within the company. Must be able to work alone & within a team, understand a listen to customers, manage your own time to carry out service, repair & installation of new / used machinery as required. Training will be given on & off the job, we are also continuously improving and welcome suggestions from anyone with the relevant knowledge.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• The repair, maintenance, and servicing of woodworking machinery, and electrical systems, to ensure our operations run smoothly.

• Removal, Installation & Commissioning of machinery.

• Occasionally, electrical works, advanced controls & automation systems.

• Must be willing to stay away from time to time.

Working Hours are flexible due to the nature of the job. As standard a 40-hr working week is required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair woodworking machinery, including but not limited to, CNCs, Edge banders, Beam saws, Presses & some classical machinery etc.

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of machinery to prevent breakdowns.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and components.

• Perform safety checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.

• Collaborate with other team members to optimize machinery performance.

• Provide technical guidance and training to operators as needed.

 

Qualifications: (Desired & Considered)

• A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience in repairing and servicing woodworking machinery.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components. 

      o Programable Logic Controllers (Basic I/O Checking)

      o Contactors & Relay Circuits

      o Digital & Analogue Signals

      o Servo Calibration

• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Software orientated for commissioning & troubleshooting

• Ability to use basic Office 365 Products & Digital Job Sheets.
