Could you tell us more about recent developments at Camco?
In 2023, we invested in a new slitting line to provide a better service to our valued customer base. It’s proven to be a great success as we can slit any width and ship the next day nationwide.
As this service became more popular, we saw a massive increase in orders and quickly ran out of space, prompting our decision to move to a larger building in order to facilitate the jumbo roll stock. In December we moved into a new 12,000 square foot warehouse and are now installing our second slitting line.
How will the new facilities and equipment enhance Camco’s offering?
Our new warehouse is not only 12000 square feet, but it also offers a new storage system that is nine metres high, providing over 2000 pallet spaces. This allows us to carry more stock to fulfil the increase in order intake.
With two slitting lines, we can now increase the output of special sizes on a next-day basis, and we also offer a recoiling service for customers that require small quantity rolls.
Our website now offers a full colour-matching tool, so customers can quickly find an edge-to-board match.
What are you currently observing when it comes to industry trends/ demand for edgebanding, and how is Camco particularly well-equipped to cater for this?
In recent times, we have seen a lot of customers requiring edging to match paint colours. With our new colour matching service, we are able to provide customers with edging to match most paints, such as Farrow & Ball, Deluxe and many more.
As well as this, we also offer digital printed edgebanding which enables us to print any decor on the ABS. No other UK company offers this service that we are aware of.
