AXYZ to hold first 2018 open day event in London

Leading supplier of routing, cutting, engraving and print finishing systems AXYZ International, will hold its first 2018 open day event in north London on 24th January.

Having proved a popular and easily accessible venue for previous similar events, the Royal Air Force Museum, situated on the former Hendon Aerodrome site in Grahame Park Way, Edgware, London NW9 5LL, will again be the chosen venue. The event will run from 10am-4pm and refreshments will be available throughout the day.

The open day will provide AXYZ International with the opportunity to formally introduce to existing and potential new customers recently upgraded machines, tooling options and online spare parts, accessories and consumables resources.

Application specialists will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions, as well as members of the AXYZ International CNCRoutershop division for consultations on product training and technical support requirements.

The main focus of the event will be on the upgraded AXYZ Trident hybrid CNC machine, which now offers a faster, stronger and smarter solution in comparison with the original models. This will be supplemented by an AXYZ series router and new productivity options. These include a new kiss-cut knife unit, a new high-speed router spindle and an expanded ATC (Automatic Tool Change) facility.

The Trident machine incorporates a triple-head configuration featuring a CNC routing spindle with oscillating and tangential knife-cutting units. These are interchangeable to enable the processing of frequently problematical thin materials like vinyl, cardboard and paper and thicker and heavier materials such as aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, ACM (Aluminium Composite Material), acrylic and foamed boards.

The new 8.7hp, 40,000rpm HDS spindle is said to represent the next step in high-speed machine processing, enabling routing/cutting at two to three times faster than when using a standard spindle and with no compromise on the quality of the edge finish on the materials processed. This makes the HDS spindle ideal for the machining of woods, plastics and non-ferrous metals.

The new kiss-cut knife option expands the functionality of AXYZ CNC routers by enabling the processing of a much wider range of materials. Special adapters will allow the knife to be fitted into most of the commonly used routing/cutting spindles and tangential knife tools.

The new ATC facility will feature a choice of 10 or 14 toolstations and will complement the existing seven- and 21-station options. These have now been upgraded with improved mechanics and drive motors.
