Bespoke furniture maker, NEJ Stevenson, has announced its next CPD (Continued Professional Development) day will be held on 11th September 2015. Interior designers, architects and contractors are invited to a one-day training session focusing on ‘Specifying Joinery’.
The one-day session, set to run from 9.30am-4.45pm will be held at NEJ Stevenson’s workshop and headquarters in Rugby, Warwickshire. This CPD will provide an opportunity for all interior designers who specify or sub-contract joinery to see a range of technical demonstrations, guiding them through the process of taking a design from brief to manufacture.
Key points will be outlined, together with the responsibilities of both parties whilst highlighting the effects of delays and changes. NEJ Stevenson Managing Director, Neil Stevenson, will deliver a welcome note to delegates before the company Heads of Department will detail the manufacturing process from sign-off to dispatch, material selection, veneer selection, preparation and application. In the afternoon guests may take part in a practical session.
“We are passionate about British craftsmanship and passing on our expertise to the next generation of design professionals,” says Neil Stevenson, Managing Director of NEJ Stevenson. “This CPD has been carefully planned to cover the entire process of specifying joinery, from planning to dispatch and we hope the day proves informative for everyone who attends.”
Members of the BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) who attend the session will qualify for eight CPD points and can register at a reduced rate of £50.00. Non BIID member positions are priced at £75 whilst student tickets are £25. This price is fully inclusive of return transport to and from Rugby railway station and a food and drink buffet throughout the day.
